Since Xi Jinping took over at the helm of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), observers have witnessed tremendous change in the structure and operations of the Chinese political system.
Shifting to a more top-down ('top-level design') governance style that is different from previous eras in China, this special issue will provide a close-up perspective the particularities of the current Chinese governance, and explore the changes in governance patterns (if any) since Xi Jinping came to power.
