Recent advances in isoprenoid studies Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry

Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry (BBB) is pleased to present their 2018 special issue on: Recent advances in isoprenoid studies.

Isoprenoids are compounds built from two common precursors, isopentenyl pyrophosphate (IPP) and dimethylallyl pyrophosphate (DMAPP). Well- known drugs ‘statins’ lower our cholesterol level by inhibiting this IPP and DMAPP synthesis at the point of HMG-CoA reduction. More than 50,000 isoprenoid compounds are found in nature, that include the ones focused on this special issue on ‘Recent advances of isoprenoid studies’, such as cholesterol, carotenoid, coenzyme Q, vitamin E, phytocassane, glycyrrhizin, dolichols, and rubbers. Please enjoy and find out how isoprenoid compounds are important in living organisms and maintaining our healthy lives.

We hope you enjoy reading all published papers. If you're keen to publish with BBB, please read our instructions for authors: here.
