Asia Pacific Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy

This virtual special issue comprises selected papers from the previous issues of the Asia Pacific Journal of Counselling and Psychotherapy (APJCP). The APJCP aims to publish quality psychotherapy related research studies and evidence-based practice reports in counselling and psychotherapy.

The selected papers address working alliance in psychotherapy, the attachment issue on counselling, evidence-based counselling programmes for caregivers of people with intellectual disability, and indigenous psychotherapy practice such as Buddhist ontology focused meditation. Among the selected papers, some are using factorial analysis to validate standard psychological scales, the others are doing pre- and post-test or quasi-experiments to explore the effectiveness of counselling or psychotherapy practice. In addition to the empirical feature, many studies in this selected virtual special issue reflect various cultural aspects in doing counselling and psychotherapy in Asian Pacific region.
