55th Volume Anniversary International Journal of Production Research

International Journal of Production Research

The International Journal of Production Research (IJPR) was founded in 1961 and publishes major scientific results on product/process, production and logistics engineering. Complex decision problems in management and control of production and logistics systems are considered. Fundamental techniques developed in industrial engineering, computer, control and mathematical sciences which can be used in the design, monitoring and management of production and logistics systems are studied.

With this new volume, we celebrate not only the 55th anniversary of our journal but also of Production Research in general, because IJPR has formulated and structured this new research discipline. Fundamental scientific results in our domain were published in IJPR and then widely employed and discussed in the community. IJPR was the first and is still one of most influential, well-established journals reporting jointly manufacturing, production and operations management research. With 24 issues and about 450 published papers a year, IJPR is indisputably the flagship of our profession.

As part of these celebrations, we have selected 10 papers from the journal and have made them free to access for the duration of 2017.

I invite you to celebrate with us this anniversary and submit the best of your work to the International Journal of Production Research. Also, I invite you to be regular, loyal and active readers, users and champions of our journal.
