The articles in this Virtual Issue, assembled to coincide with ISATT’s 18th biennial conference taking place in July, 2017, have been selected from papers published in the journal between 1995 and 2010. These years witnessed increasing policy led changes to the governances, structures, curricula, assessment criteria for teachers and students, levels of autonomy and funding formulae, in the name of raising standards of teaching and learning and promoting equity.
