Materials Science and Technology Call for Papers: Thematic Issue on Nuclear Materials

My name is Dr. John A. Francis, and I invite you to submit your research to a Thematic Issue of Materials Science and Technology focusing on Nuclear Materials. I heartily encourage you to contribute your research to this special issue in the form of reviews, original research, or short critical assessments. Articles should fit within the scope of the journal, but I am also seeking ground breaking research with an emphasis on material, structure and structure-property relationships.

Materials Science and Technology covers fundamental and technological aspects of materials science and engineering with a particular interest in the continuum from understanding of process routes leading to the generation of microstructure, through characterisation and understanding of how microstructure is controlled and manipulated, to the control and prediction of relevant engineering properties.

Manuscript Submissions

As Editor of this Thematic Issue, I am particularly seeking research that provides an insight into:

a) The development of novel materials for fission or fusion applications;
b) Developments in the processing of nuclear materials, and linking those developments to the properties of the materials;
c) Advances in our understanding of the relationship between material structure and the performance of materials in nuclear environments;
d) Advances in the modelling of the behaviour of nuclear materials, either in nuclear environments or during processing operations prior to service.
