Pedagogies: An International Journal

Pedagogies: An International Journal brings together emergent and groundbreaking work on all aspects of pedagogy in response to transforming communities and student bodies, new knowledge and forms of communication. Most importantly, the journal provides a space for discussions on how educators might address these issues and improve teaching and learning in formal and informal settings.

The guest editors welcome scholarly research and theoretical perspectives that examine the many aspects of arts integration. These consist of scholarly work that highlights the implementation of arts integration in school contexts and studies that examine the impact of arts integration on teachers, principals, and students.

Submission Guidelines

Authors intending to submit articles to this 2018 Special Issue should send the following to the Special Issue Guest Editors by 26 May 2017:

  • Proposed paper title
  • 200-word abstract

Papers that are deemed suitable by the guest editors should be submitted online at the ScholarOne Manuscripts site by 1 September 2017.  All manuscripts will undergo a double-blinded review process.


Papers should be in the range of 6,000–7,000 words (including abstract, references, endnotes and space taken for tables/figures – calculated on 600 words to a journal page) in length, typed in 12-point font on A4 paper, paginated and double-spaced. The title should be on page 1 and not exceed 10 words (50 letters), and should be followed by an abstract of 100–200 words. A separate first page should include the full title, author name(s), institutional and email address(es), and indicate the author responsible for correspondence related to the manuscript submission.

Reviews can vary from 1,000 words for a single-title review to 6,000 words for an essay review. Contributors should follow the guidelines for articles, and attempt to review books in terms of related and current literature and scholarly debate.


Call for papers opens in January 2017.

Submission of proposed paper title and 200 word abstract to guest editors: By 26 May 2017

Manuscripts to be submitted online for peer review: By 1 September 2017

Final manuscripts accepted and ready for production: By 23 February 2018
