Journal of Human Behavior in the Social Environment Call for Papers

Self-Care Practices and Vicarious Trauma

Journal of Human Behavior in the Social Environment

This special issue of the Journal of Human Behavior in the Social Environment will emphasize self-care practices for clinicians and researchers.

Vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout are serious conditions related specifically to professionals serving clients in trauma-related situations.

Researchers examining catastrophes and trauma-related events are also susceptible to secondary traumatic stress.

The guest editors seek submission of manuscripts highlighting innovative self-care practices.

Articles reporting evidenced-based self-care practices, new innovative models, and case-studies are welcome. First-person practice notes from clinicians and teaching notes from educators are also requested.
